Persicaria acris (syn. Polygonum acre ), a homoeopathic medicine prepared from the whole plant of the Polygonaceae family, is a lesser-known but valuable medicine acting chiefly on the urinary tract, mucous membranes, and skin. It is especially suited to conditions marked by strangury, burning in bladder, haematuria, and irritant action on mucous outlets. It also finds use in inflammatory affections of skin and kidneys, with soreness and excoriation. Common Name English: Water Pepper / Smartweed Hindi: Bishkatali / Lal Jwarla SBL’s Persicaria acris can be helpful in the following conditions: Burning & Strangury Helps in painful, frequent urging to urinate with burning sensation.
