Eserinum , also known as Physostigmine , is a powerful homoeopathic medicine derived from the alkaloid of the Calabar Bean ( Physostigma venenosum ). With its chemical formula C ₁₅ H ₂₁ N ₃ O ₂ , this medicine is primarily used in conditions affecting the eyes, nervous system, and gastrointestinal tract. Eserinum is particularly valuable in managing spasmodic affections such as ciliary spasm , blepharospasm , and glaucoma , as well as certain cases of headache with vomiting , cardiac weakness , and profuse sweating during febrile states.
