Culex pipiens , the common house mosquito, is a rare but useful homoeopathic medicine prepared from the insect. It has a marked influence on the nervous system, skin, and female reproductive organs. It is particularly suited to excitable, sensitive constitutions, prone to vivid dreams, irritability, and disorders of the uterus and mucous membranes. Fretful, irritable, and oversensitive to trifles. Vivid dreams with anxious or frightful images, waking the patient suddenly. Nervous weakness with trembling and prostration. Female & Uterine Complaints Marked affinity to uterus: bearing-down pains and pelvic discomfort. Helps in metrorrhagia (profuse or irregular uterine bleeding). Manages leucorrhoea with weakness and backache. Menstrual disturbances accompanied by irritability and nervous tension. Mucous Membranes & Discharges Acrid, excoriating discharges from genital tract. Mucous irritation with burning and smarting pains. Weakness and exhaustion follow profuse losses. Skin & Local Affinity Itching and irritation of skin, especially after mosquito bites. Avoid strong smells (onion, hing, mint, garlic) during use. Allow 15 minutes gap between two homoeopathic medicines, 30 mins gap between Homoeopathic medicines and food, or one hour gap between Homoeopathic medicines or another system of medicines.
