Indications

The remedy has its action on mucous membranes of the stomach, bowels and respiratory organs. It also produces profound nutritive changes in the body. It acts on blood causing alteration in the blood and anemia. The most affected parts are nose, larynx, pharynx and lungs. The characteristic symptom is stringy viscid mucous secretion. It also has dryness of mucous membranes. There is great sensitiveness to cold and external impressions. It produces weakness and weariness. Nose: It is given for snuffles of children. There is fluent and violent discharge from the nose. There is pain and pressure at the root of nose. The discharge is thick ropy and greenish yellow. The nose stops and there is violent sneezing. The discharge is thin and watery. It is indicated in frontal sinusitis. There is loss of smell and inability to breathe through nose. Mouth: Mouth is dry and cracked. The tongue is mapped, red, shining and smooth. Ulcers in the mouth with burning and corner are cracked. Stomach: There is great hunger but loses flesh. Nausea and vomiting after eating beef. There is ulcer in stomach which is round. Respiratory: Cough is metallic, hacking and starts from tickling in the throat. The expectoration is profuse, yellow and sticky. It is indicated in laryngitis with cough. The cough is so violent with flow of tears.
